              Urskog - Swedish word meaning "really old and untouched forest". Literal translation "Primeval forest"

Urskog is a Swedish riding concept who depends on
traditional craftmanship along with longlasting raw materials,
to create something timeless in a modern form.
In every line and every curve we strive to be a meeting point
in between classic design and functionality,
Always with mother earth´s health in mind.

We started and still stands firmly where the waves end and
the streets start in the northern country called sweden.

 


   

We stood gazing at the ice-cold Baltic Sea dreaming about classical wooden surf. But with the biting wind in our faces and lead grey waves rolling in over the craggy, stone beach we realized that this would call for more than being ankle deep in Californian surf culture. So we shifted our gaze inwards, to the main land. Let our eyes wander, past fields and fertile soil, past thick pine forests and hard men, past elk and lingonberry, past bare mountains, lakes and bogs and deep into the Nordic heart. There, in the deepest, primeval woods, among trolls and faeries, black forest lakes and pale rays of sun over moss clad rocks we found what we were looking for.

Urskog is a Swedish riding concept returning to one of our oldest materials, birch, creating something timeless in a modern form. Boards where you can feel classical wooden surf and our northern roots in every line and every curve. The naked wood makes each board unique like the tree rings of the surface. Boards created where the woods meet the sea, grown where the waves end and the streets start. 

 

Production & Manufacturing
Primeval forests are made locally in Sweden with a core of Nordic Birch together with surface veneers in organic woods as a substitute for the graphics themselves.

Each board is pressed one at a time (single press) in order to ensure maximum quality and durability.

Unique & Limited
All models are numbered in a unique series and signed by the owner, Christoffer Stivén. Since our graphics are the grain from the trees we use, no two boards are the same as the grain in the wood is changed by the log used, each veneer is unique.

History
We started building our own boards in 2006 and have since developed our production to today have a capacity of over 20,000 boards / year.

Benefits (USP)
Primeval forest is timeless. Our model Pinne has been involved since the start in 2006, and is basically unchanged since then, still one of our bestsellers. The types of wood we use instead of graphics speak their clear language, elegant and without motifs they can never become outdated.

If we were to remove a model or type of wood, we would do so with very long forethought, so that all products from Urskog that are on the market should always be relevant.

No fluctuations
We are careful and cautious with whom we work with, both retailers, influencers and collaborators. Primeval forest has already existed for 15 stable years and wants to remain stable for at least as long. Quality assured As we have our own production with very few people involved and a careful quality control in every step, we keep our quality and minimal complaints.

Components
All components on Urskog's complete boards follow this quality concept. We can deliver all of our products as decks, complete in parts or pre-assembled. Urskog owns the brand North Best co. Which manufactures all the components for the boards, where we have picked out products of the best quality that also play perfectly with Urskog´'s products. The only thing we do not currently manufacture ourselves are the trucks for the boards for the simple reason that trucks are what is most critical for the consumer, a well-known truck raises the brand.
