Why cork?

CORK IS FANTASTIC.
We were looking for a material as a substitute against the regular griptape.
The material we decided on also had high friction, soft touch and feel, is waterproof and and durable and gave the boards an extra dimension of touch and feel.
Cork.

The wine industry is today predominant in the world of cork usage, and we are not going to compete with their numbers. But it felt good adding this extra value to the material.

GRIPTAPE vs CORK GRIPTAPE
Griptape is, and will be available in the future in our product range, since it has an outstanding grip-feeling for doing tricks and handling your board.
The cork griptape also has an amazing friction, but also an amazing soft-touch feel it that gives the feeling of the board going all the way up through your shoes into the body. Using the board frequently will have the effect of compressing the material (since it contains a lot of air) but still contain the friction. This will give the grip area more personalized stance feeling and will adapt to your riding.
If you are using the board in the summer (or winter) and love to go barefoot, this is your weapon of choice. Since it doesn’t have this raw friction, it won’t eat your shoes or feet. Going on the board without your shoes is the by the closest feeling you can get to a surfboard, but with wheels.

IS CORK ECO FRIENDLY?
Cork is considered to be ECO-friendly with the fact that the trees are not being harvested to get the material. Cork is the actual Bark of the Cork Oaks, and when a young tree is around 25 years, you can start harvesting the bark.
